Dear :
You would get more money by being honest, not asking for donations by conspiring with exclusive religious affiliations, and actually helping others day in and day out each and every year.
I take offense with your constant badgering in the name of a deity. I have chosen to give to those real charities that actually turn a profit, and pay appropriate taxes.
Please stop all mail to me.
Regards,

Angry All The Time
I guess the upcoming Duval County,Jacksonville,Florida elections is responsible for my anger at the moment. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am weary of politics and religion in the same bed. Every candidate is used to being involved with non-profits, and backed by their church.I don't feel the candidates are intelligent, do research, or even understand science. They do think they are blessed, have the answers, and represent the majority. In truth, who the hell would even want to be involved in politics? Well, if I was healthy I would run in a heartbeat.
We need candidates that understand that homelessness isn't a crime, but a result. It's a result of city, state, and federal governments not meeting the demands of citizens. We need candidates that are spot on with the fast paced change around them. We need candidates that understand the haves don't need anything; it's the have-nots that need our immediate attention. We need candidates that don't see the end game as incarcerating anyone not in agreement or compliance with all laws. We need candidates that don't kill people because of their own very religious bigotry and false assumptions. This list is endless.
I am fed up with the only path being a religious path. When in fact religion is the indecisive one. There's little difference between Sharia Law, and Christian belief systems. Both have an endless supply of blood on their hands. I don't care what anybody thinks inside of their own head just as I could care less about what they do sexually as consenting adults. Ironically, Muslims and Christians both seem to be sexually deviant when it comes to children, multiple partners, and having children out of wedlock. No attention has ever been paid to whether or not these children should even have been born in the first place. Multiplying is advised in the Bible and Koran. There was a need for that at one time. The larger the family unit the better chance for survival.
The United States is not a Christian country. It has a diverse plethora of religions, and the Atheist community is estimated to be five million! Due to the sheer resentment, bigotry, and bad treatment of Atheists, not all adults will admit to being an Atheist.
Blasphemy comes from Middle English. It dates back to the 12th-15th centuries. This makes the term Medieval. The Dark Ages got the name because all intellectual thought was discouraged after the fall of Rome. It was a time of blood lust, and land grabs by warring nations that branded their specific power and greed in the name of various Gods and interpretations. We're still doing this today!
Now with that said, name me one candidate running for office in March, that doesn't proclaim a strong belief in god? I am suggesting that alone is a red flag for voters. I want to see results. I want to see property taxes that reflect actual value. I want to see indispensable positions such as police, fire, and rescue a top paying respected job. I want tax exemptions for churches abolished. Take a look at how many churches are for sale and it will make you ill! These non-profits are killing our economy. We don't need overpaid City Council members that can't balance a checkbook. Salary ranges from $40,000 to $64,000 year, plus perks. We don't need local media personalities dressing nicely on television, and spending far too much time on weather reports.sports, and pushing personal preferences for charities. I learn nothing from watching local news casts. I dropped my subscription to the Times Union because they aren't practicing good journalism. They are right winged and Republican(now synonymous with religion and greed). It is said you are what you eat, and that goes for intellectual food too.

When all the banks were on the brink, and they decided to add insult to injury with ridiculous fees, I pulled my money out of the bank. Now you cannot do that with business accounts(unless you shut it down), but you sure can do it with personal accounts. I did close one business, and have been turning in sales tax of $0. It's up to the economic climate whether I re-open. If you desire to pay bills, then pay them with postal money orders. The post office needs and wants your business. For the ridiculous amount of interest you get, it is no longer necessary to use banks.
We are rapidly turning into a third world country. I used to think the Doomsday Preppers were out of their minds, but now think they've got a point.
Our government has shut down 17 times in the past. What that really means is only essential services are provided. Essential services are: police, fire, weather, post office, corrections, medical services at federal facilities, armed forces, and air traffic services. What will hurt is that a federal government shutdown causes a large number of civilian federal employees to be furloughed. Military personnel are not furloughed, but may not be paid as scheduled.
The exact details of which government functions would stop during a shutdown is determined by the Office of Management and Budget. However, some specific aspects have applied to all shutdowns in the past. Among these is the closure of national parks and passport offices. Members of Congress continue to be paid, because their pay cannot be altered except by direct law.
Shutdowns in the past have affected the Washington, D.C. municipal government, putting a stop to schools and to utilities such as garbage collection.
Nice huh?
