Tim Tebow and Religion

People are not forgiven for sins they commit by a long dead person. Each of us is responsible for what we do to each other.People do hide behind god as an excuse for terrible behavior.Give me an example of one atheist that has murdered anybody. The only book you seem to have read at all is the Bible.Let me remind you written language has been around for over 8,000 years. The Bible was written in sections by different people,at different times, beginning about 2,000 years ago. It's relatively a new compilation as far as history goes. There are 4,200 gods.Which one you endorse, or not is up to you.

There has never been a war without religious roots for killing other peoples of differing beliefs.Reason has never been man's strong point, so people have always fought to make their particular viewpoint the one and only correct one to do everything from curing diseases, to choosing mates, governing etc.It was done to provide society with a structure. Many people are not free thinkers and have to be told right from wrong.Egotism makes it difficult to come to terms with death.Death is no reason to live a perfect life.Death is a fact.
At one time the Popes were married.39 of them to be exact.

Chastity for Popes began in the first written mandate requiring priests to be chaste in AD 304 by the Canon 33 of the Council of Elvira. It's expected that Popes will be able to marry again. My point is that there is no exactness in religion as in science.Religion is a "mish-mash" of contradictions and conclusions. Each religion wildly differs from culture to culture and sect to sect.Science is fact with no room for wobbling.Discoveries change science;religion changes with whomever is in control.Interpretation in religion is by self-appointed leaders leading herds of sheep sometimes with disastrous results.Jim Jones comes to mind here.Cults are religions just as sure they have the correct answers as the 4,200 mainstream religions.
Free thinkers are humanists, or non-theists(atheists).Humanism is a group of philosophies and ethical perspectives which emphasize the value and agency of human beings, individually, and collectively, and generally prefers individual thought and evidence (rationalism, empiricism) over established doctrine or faith (fideism).
My comment was very tongue-in-cheek.If god can be on somebody's side he can also be against them. I don't believe praying will do anything but make the person feel better. That's fine, but chocolate does the same thing for me!
