What's Really Ailing Us This Week

Oh for pity's sake. Report all suspicious packages to the police, tell your children to do the same, and recognize that we live in a dangerous world. We used to call this type of foolishness vigilante behavior, now we call it terrorism. Terrorism comes in every form known to man. It's not just men with bushy long beards,or women with their heads covered,or exclusive to a certain ethnicity. We got creeps wanting to kill anybody for any reason. We tend to blame whatever is convenient at the time. The Mother of Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, went on television to declare that no way could her children do such a heinous act because she was their Mother and knew her children. Then we find out that she and her children are a part of huge terrorism database!

We have been a sleeping giant for many years...meaning our people at home haven't endured anything near the magnitude of say civilians in Syria,Israelis on a daily basis,Somalians,etc.etc.etc.
We have our own psychopaths and sociopaths to deal with right at home.We just saw a slew of them get arrested for running Allied Veteran Gaming Centers.Personally, I'm suspicious of the motives on both sides of that issue.
Our leadership, in our ever so religious South, is failing us.Our local media hasn't evolved quickly enough to continue its present business model. If you watch BBC, you are way ahead of the curve of local media. However, even that source has become tainted because they are now taking corporate monies for advertising.PBS is no longer dependent on public contributions. That spells disaster in a free society, which we apparently are not.
Gun sales are way up because there's a whole lot of folks out there that believe the only way to insure protection is to be self- protected.I happen to agree."Money Makes the World Go Round", a song from "Cabaret", hit Broadway in 1966.Liza Minnelli made the movie version in 1972.The reason I bring this up,is the climate in Germany during WWII,has many similarities to our American society of today. Germany had a failing economy, and the dregs of the earth were causing it. The answer was to quickly remove those dregs, or cause them to leave.Prosperity, although fleeting, followed for years. So they thought, the homeland had been cleansed.
Our Homeland is filthy with police that don't enforce laws, firemen that aren't paid a living wage, and people spreading the AIDS virus. That's the plague of this century. The media would have you believe it's obesity, but the real death comes from the AIDS epidemic.Obesity doesn't spread from person to person. AIDS does spread that way.Skinny people have just as many heart attacks as fat ones. It's genetics that play the role, not a rib-eye once a week.
To sum up...be careful out there, and learn what to protect yourself from.

Crooks...er Polititians

Crooks...er...politicians...er...Allied Veterans...er...takes me back to the
Watch System of 1783 which evolved into the idea of Municipal Police in 1857, which then morphed into a predominantly native American(not American Indian),German, and Irish police force, that was riddled with corruption. The Bowery Boys is a great read:
http://theboweryboys.blogspot.com/2010/05/case-files-of-new-york-police....
None of this hanky-panky is new. Wherever you find strong theistic beliefs, money, and a power hungry establishment of corrupt leadership you find crime. It's simply human nature.
The new Nostradamus,Dr.Bruce Bueno De Mesquita, applies mathematics to predict outcomes. He's NEVER been wrong! I encourage you to begin reading his papers and books that speak to this subject, and any other you might imagine. Knowledge, not money is power.Education is the single most important tool we have to stop corruption in its tracks. It does take plenty of effort, thought, and action to accomplish change.

Work? You've Got to Be Kidding Me!

Nobody really wants to work anymore. They want a paycheck, but aren't craftsmen(or women),are more interested in frivolous pursuits like who'll they might sleep with in the near future, or what bar they will go to after work. There are 431 Christian Churches in Jacksonville.
http://www.churches-in.com/FL/Jacksonville/
There is one central Mosque.

There are five synagogues.

My point is we sure have a bunch of theists with no moral compasses,a strong belief that god likes them best, and their family is the most important.Sounds like what heroin does for you.Karl Marx, in 1843 said just that.

There is no honor in a days work, for a days pay. Partly because that hard days work for pay doesn't pay enough anymore. So corners are cut, pockets lined, and networking is another name for the Club of Thieves.Lots of this networking goes on behind religious walls. The other social network for true, hard-core users are the vast non-profits supported by special interest groups. Those are the people that spend our tax money. It's truly a huge web of takers. It's an exception when people get caught and are prosecuted. That money will ever be paid back to the tax payer as a result of litigation, and is a ridiculous thought to even consider. The cycle of greed is a closed circle.Meaning, the attorneys get paid but nobody else benefits.Retribution doesn't seem to exist. The fox is watching the hen house, and nobody is watching the fox. That's called politics.

Sales Tax and Online Selling

I don't know where journalists got the idea sales tax wasn't charged online if it was required in the state the business was located. I sold online for eleven years and reported each quarter Florida Sales Tax and sent it to the state. In other states outside of Florida, if the state required sales tax the buyer was to account and pay to their state. Government is this big mammoth, slow moving entity that is lazy and didn't have the infrastructure in place to collect revenue from online sites. Again, it was the technology out pacing the enforcement of tax laws.
I just closed down all retail stores online because the sales fell to almost nothing beginning in 2008. The reasons I think caused this fall was the demise of the middle class, loss of jobs in my target market, hackers that caused problems in credit card use online, and the high fees of third party brokers like PayPal.
Ebay,Amazon,Shopzilla,Etsy, etc. sell dreams of grandeur to their potential small business sellers.Their stock is great.Shipping became a huge problem. As the use went down for first class mail, shipping costs went up.Fees, and account "maintenance" charges became unsustainable for the small online business owner.
Re-inventing yourself is the key to success.Vision into the future is a necessary tool.It is a balancing act for the entrepreneur of today to continuously change focus.

Boston

What frightens me the most is that we've spent appalling amounts of money on security and for what? In the Viet Nam years the term was "Paper Tiger" when describing the U.S. and its loss of the war, can be applied still today. The U.S. has still not learned from losing wars since our inception. The battlefield has changed, the strategy has changed, the war personality has changed, and the methods both cheap and effective are targeting us on our own soil, by possibly our very own citizens.
Boston looks like cities and towns in Syria,Iraq,Somalia, etc. The sheer number of conflicts around the world is staggering.
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/war/index.html
Individual groups of people have been targeted throughout history. It's profitable and feeds on itself to automatically generate revenue, power, and success. Independent Lens,on PBS has  explored how we in America target groups.
David Brancaccio - Prisons for Profit
A grim new statistic: One in every hundred Americans is now locked behind bars. But in this explosion of inmates some private companies are seeing opportunity. PBS investigates the government's trend to outsource prisons and prisoners to the private sector. While companies like Corrections Corporation of America say they're doing their part to solve the problem of inmate overflow, critics accuse private prisons of standing in the way of sentencing reform and sacrificing public safety to maximize profits. NOW travels to Colorado, where the controversy is boiling over, to find out. Should incarceration be incorporated?

"The New Jim Crow",by Michelle Alexander, doesn't just explain how we've kept blacks in a poverty cycle, but this cycle has leaked into poor white America,Mexican America, and has reached such a crescendo that it is literally wiping out the Middle Class. This is no accident.

The Easter Victim

Easter is my least favorite new

Easter is my least favorite holiday of all religious holidays around the world. I guess you could say Jesus was the first zombie. The horrific reenactment year after year of a poor human being being tortured to death is not my cup of tea.
The latest country to call for a modern crucifixion has been Saudi Arabia.
http://ca.ibtimes.com/articles/450944/20130327/saudi-prosecutor-demands-...
Women have been crucified as little as 200 years ago.
http://www.vatileaks.com/_blog/Vati_Leaks/post/The_crucifixion_of_women/
Real crucifixion reenactments occur yearly in the Philippines.
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/filipino-devotees-reenact-...
The first crucifixion came over 500 years before Jesus was born.
http://www.bible.ca/d-history-archeology-crucifixion-cross.htm
Jesus was just the most famous of those ill-fated victims.
The mere sight of a cross hanging around a person's neck, nailed on a wall over a bed, or anywhere in the home, or the great crosses that adorn church roofs, make me physically ill. Hospitals that hold these devices of torture as merciful are just plain creepy.
Our economy seems to be tied into these grueling, horrific holidays as we parade about consuming chocolate, jelly beans, and buying clothes to show off in church. "Look at my Basket," is the war cry of children. Few can grasp the horror of the connection.
The origin of the Easter Basket is relatively new, and the first ones contained seeds for this Spring festival. The origins change depending on the country you live.
http://www.dgreetings.com/easter/easter-basket-history.html
It has been and will always be a way to make money. It has little to do with anything in the Bible, that so many followers find factual.
