Old-school:No, there's been a shift to the right. God, and guns have ruled far too long. The attack on the U.S. consulate by Libyan factions have now turned into a heated conflict between Syria and Libya. Nobody is murdering our citizens unless they are in the military and have chosen that way of life, which is a noble one to protect the rest of us.What angers me is that only our military families have had this burden placed on them. We in the cushy old USA haven't had to do anything if we didn't want to in order to help the cause. Benghazi was a tragedy and that happens during war.
So far I haven't seen god,Thor,or any of the other 4,200 gods coming to our rescue to stop any of mans' madness. I've seen priests hurling insults at women,nuns in fact, and the same bunch that brought us the Inquisition,burning witches(mainly women), are continuing the raping of boys under the full knowledge of the holy(???)church and the Pope. Give me a break! No wonder we have so many nasty pedophiles running around, look at their role models!
I certainly haven't seen any gods curing HIV/AIDS, only humans spreading the disease, and underpaid health care workers treating the disease. I haven't seen one god run for President of Earth making all war obsolete, or sending food to feed the half of us that will die of starvation while the other half will die of obesity.
There are no miracles, and the prosperity of our race is in our hands. There is nothing new about what is happening in our time right now. There have been many notable recessions and depressions in the United States since 1872.

We cannot speculate about this unfortunate shooting, and there is a man-made reason somebody shot this poor guy. It has nothing to do with god. God didn't command the nutcase to pull or not to pull the trigger. The nutcase made that decision, just as we all make our own decisions. I will bet the shooter has a strong religious background, which has been found in a majority of homicide cases.The differences between theists and atheists has been debated for centuries.Usually the theists win because they murder the atheists!

The Bible does say that it is wrong to murder an innocent man. That's the work-around for murder.

Al Quada uses the same rationale as Catholics, and other Christians regarding murder. The ideologies came from the same beginning, same geographical region, and about the same time.
To sum up, when I hear somebody rant on about the Bible verses and quotes, I think I need to flee just as far away from them as I can get. This is a favorite practice of ex-cons,business leaders,community leaders, and others that are trying to convince themselves of something. In this case, the writer is trying to convince us we've lost ourselves and if we just pray the murdering will cease. If you believe that then I've got a golden box to sell you with god inside for a mere five billion.
